1970 Coronet R/T Convertible
This Page is dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of the 1970
Dodge Coronet R/T.
The R/T badges signify that the very least you will find
under the hood is the 375 horse, 440 Magnum, with the 390 horse, 440 SixPack and the 425 horse, 426
Hemi as options. Behind the potent powerplant was your choice of the 3
speed Torqueflite automatic or the Hemi 4 speed with the wild pistol grip
shifter. The 4 speed also got you the bullet proof 9 3/4 Dana rear end.
To put the power down to the pavement each R/T was outfitted with an extra
heavy duty "Hemi" suspension featuring beefy .92 torsion bars,
staggered leaf springs and a front sway bar.
The R/T's styling featured a love it or hate it split loop bumper,
side scoops on the rear quarters, "Bumble Bee" tape stripe and a hood with
either the "Power Bulge" or the functional "Ramcharger" dual scoops.
High impact colours such as "Plum Crazy Purple", "Sublime", "Banana", "Hemi Orange" and "Go-Mango"
were available at extra cost.
I've tried to include as much 1970 CORONET R/T info as I have.
So check out the info, registry and photo pages.
I welcome any other 70 Coronet R/T Information, Pictures and any comments about this page.
